Harold Evensky, CFP® to receive the 2018 P. Kemp Fain, Jr., Award
Financial Planning Association to Honor Financial Planning Luminary
With the Profession’s Highest Award
(September 27, 2018) – The Financial Planning Association® (FPA®), the country’s largest membership association for CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP®) professionals and those who support the financial planning process, is pleased to announce Harold Evensky, CFP®, as the recipient of the association’s and profession’s highest individual award – the 2018 P. Kemp Fain, Jr., Award.
Evensky will be honored at the 2018 FPA Annual Conference, to be held Oct. 3-5 in Chicago.
This pinnacle of recognition, in honor of the late P. Kemp Fain, Jr., CFP®, is bestowed on an individual who has made significant contributions to the advancement of the financial planning profession. To recognize those that follow in Fain’s footsteps, the 2018 P. Kemp Fain, Jr., Award is presented to an individual who has realized outstanding achievements in the areas of service to society, academia, government and professional activities.
About Evensky
Evensky is chairman and principal of Evenksy & Katz/Foldes Financial Wealth Management in Miami, Fla. and Lubbock, Texas, and Professor of Practice at Texas Tech University. He has served as chair of the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards, Inc., CFP Board of Examinations, CFP Board’s Appeals Committee and as chair of the International CFP Council. Dedicated to the advancement of the financial planning profession, he served on the TIAA-CREF Institute Advisor Advisory Board, International Association of Financial Planners (IAFP) Board, Charles Schwab Institutional Advisory Board and Council, and Editorial Advisory Board for the Journal of Financial Planning and the Journal of Retirement.
Harold has been referred to as ‘The Dean of Financial Planning’ in both industry and public sectors. “Like all past recipients of the P. P. Kemp Fain, Jr., Award
Named for the late P. Kemp Fain, Jr., this award is the pinnacle of recognition in the financial planning profession, honoring one exceptional individual who has made outstanding contributions to the financial planning profession. Fain, a Knoxville, Tennessee native, was a pioneer in the financial planning profession, blazing trails in professional associations, the CFP® certification, and the profession at large. In keeping with Fain’s example, nominees for the award are individuals who have made significant contributions to the financial planning profession in the areas of service to society, academia, government, and professional activities. The recipient is recognized at FPA’s Annual Conference. In keeping with Fain’s example, nominees for the award are professionals who also exemplify the FPA’s core values of integrity, competence, relationships, and stewardship.
