Aid to Distressed Families of Appalachian Counties (ADFAC) launched as public charity in 1987.

ADFAC’s Household Assistance Program provides short-term help to individuals and families in crisis through utilities payments or deposit, rent or mortgage payments, personal hygiene & cleaning items, food vouchers and budgeting coaching.

Their Appalachian Housing Partners Program provides solutions to housing issues faced by local residents through home repair, major and minor home rehabilitation and even new ENERGY STAR homes.

The School Supplies Program provides new backpacks and supplies to over 4,000 preK-12 students each year at 45 local schools.
