The Love Kitchen was founded in 1986 by sisters Helen Ashe and Ellen Turner as a place where anyone and everyone could come and receive food. Even though both sisters are no longer with us, their spirit lives on through the dedicated volunteers who keep their mission alive and well every day.
The Love Kitchen provides meals, clothing and emergency food packages to homebound, homeless and unemployed people of all races and faiths. They work with local agencies to provide meals, secure used clothing, and donate services with the goal of promoting the self-sufficiency of those we serve.
The Love Kitchen serves over 500 meals in house and delivers over 3,000 meals each week. That’s 155,000 meals a year!
As we approach Thanksgiving, we are featuring The Love Kitchen as our Charity of the Month.
